DIANA PEPIN
PITCHING / HITTING / FIELDING
Meet Diana Pepin (Bio/pdf.)

Diana Pepin, a 1992 graduate of Eastern Connecticut State University and a former four-year letterwinner in the softball program, embarks upon her ninth full season in 2010 as head coach of the most successful intercollegiate fastpitch softball program in New England history.

Pepin was named the sixth permanent head coach in the tradition-rich program’s 30-year history in the spring of 2001 and in only her second full season, returned the Warriors to post-season play when they were named to the ECAC New England Division III tournament.

Last spring, the Warriors shared the Little East Conference lead in wins (11) and earned the No. 2 tournament seed after compiling their  most regular-season conference wins in 11 years of conference play and equaling their highest finish ever  in the final regular-season conference standings.

With Eastern as the No. 5 seed in the 2005 Little East Conference Tournament, Pepin led the Warriors all the way to the championship round, knocking off the No. 1 seed in the process.

Prior to joining the softball staff as an assistant coach in the fall of 2000, the Willimantic native coached softball, basketball and soccer at the high school level. For six years through 1999, she served as head softball coach at Rockville High School, leading the Rams to conference divisional titles in each of her final three seasons and an overall record of 52-8 in that time. In the spring of 2000, she served as head softball coach at her alma mater, Windham High School.

In the summer of 2003, Pepin spent two weeks in Australia, coaching a U.S. 16-19-year-old all-star softball team.  Pepin was a four-year letterwinner and three-year starter as an infielder in the softball program between 1988 and 1991, helping the Warriors to four regional championships and the 1990 NCAA Division III national championship. ECSU also placed third in 1988 and second in 1989 and 1991. She was a member of the 1990 NCAA Division III national tournament all-tournament team and served as one of four team captains as a senior in 1991.
In addition to holding a B.A. Degree in Sociology, Pepin holds a B.S. in Physical Education from Eastern and an. M.S. Degree in Physical Education from Central Connecticut State University.
